Democratic Rep. John Alcala introduced a House bill written to relieve second-term Kansas governors and lieutenant governors of the burden of seeking political contributions from supporters after victorious re-election campaigns.
Alcala said the legislation wasn’t linked to efforts by Gov. Sam Brownback and Lt. Gov. Jeff Colyer to continue soliciting potential donors in aftermath of their successful campaign in 2014.
