Topeka may be the state capital, but the real rulers of the county took office Sunday afternoon.
The Shawnee County Fair King and Queen Crowning, held in the Exhibition Hall of the Kansas Expocentre during the Shawnee County Fair, appointed a boy and girl who have devoted their young lives to their communities.
Robert Schulz, of Tecumseh, and Amanda Miller, of Wakarusa, won their titles upholding the 4-H pledge devoting their heads, hearts, health and hands to service and the betterment of others.
