A Kansas House hearing on legislation requiring the recording of police interrogations pitted defense attorneys and a wrongfully convicted man against prosecutors and police organizations Thursday.
The House Committee on Corrections and Juvenile Justice discussed House Bill 2593, introduced last week by Rep. Ramon Gonzalez, R-Perry.
“Videotaping of these cases validates the integrity and credibility of law enforcement in the interrogation process,” Gonzalez said.
