Consumers with unused gift cards from RadioShack can obtain refunds, the Kansas Attorney General’s office said Monday. The company filed for bankruptcy last year.
Under a court order filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, gift cards purchased from RadioShack, the RadioShack website or any of its authorized sellers will be treated as a priority claim and 100 percent of the balance will be paid to customers. Those holding gift cards acquired in any other way won’t be treated as a priority claim, meaning claimants may not receive payment.
