SUGAR CREEK, Mo. — A fire at a northeast of Kansas City burned for hours and prompted officials to ask nearby residents to keep their windows and doors closed.
The fire at the privately-owned Courtney Ridge Landfill near Sugar Creek was reported late Wednesday. Authorities let it burn overnight before smothering it with dirt Thursday.
No injuries were reported.
