A woman who attempted to flush thousands of dollars in drug funds down a cellblock toilet was sentenced Monday to 10 years in federal prison, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said.
Marisela Ramirez, 26, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Ramirez helped arrange the transport of 16 pounds of methamphetamine from California to Kansas, she said in her plea. She had $3,880 in drug funds on her when she was arrested.
