Regulators deny appeal of transmission line that would go from Indiana to Kansas

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — State regulators have refused to reconsider their approval of a high-voltage electricity transmission line that would cross parts of nine central Illinois counties.

A group of farmers and landowners challenged the Illinois Commerce Commission’s approval of the 780-mile line known as the Grain Belt Express. They argued Texas-based Clean Line Energy Partners didn’t meet state requirements for an expedited review.
