The upcoming legislative session will be driven by the need for a new funding plan for public schools and an overhaul of tax law to generate cash for investment in core government functions, a bipartisan slate of House and Senate candidates said Tuesday.
“This legislative session is going to be like being on the Titanic,” said Rep. Annie Kuether, a Topeka Democrat serving the 55th District and unopposed in the Nov. 8 election. Turning the political ship around in the Capitol, she said, was “not going to be easy.”
