There will not be a coalition of moderate Republicans and Democrats in the Kansas Senate during the 2017 legislative session, Senate President Susan Wagle declared on a Kansas City radio station over the weekend.
“My moderates say, ‘Susan, I’m a Republican, I’m working within the Republican Party, I’m going to help you solve problems,’ ” she told the hosts of KCUR-FM’s “Statehouse Blend” on Saturday. “We’re going to be a Republican team.”
