Two days before his 38th birthday, Jonathan Emil Maldonado-Vasquez pleaded no contest to fatally shooting a Shawnee County man during a home invasion in 2014.
Maldonado-Vasquez made pleas to voluntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery before Shawnee County District Judge Mark Braun. The defendant made the plea 10 days before his jury trial was to start.
