A line of cars and pickups on Thursday were stopping in the 1100 block of S.W. Washburn at a driver’s license checkpoint.
But the checkpoint had a $25 twist.
If the driver had a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance on Thursday morning, a Topeka police officer gave every third motorist an envelope containing a $25 gift card.
