Democratic Senate candidate Chris Morrow started a food fight in a turbulent state legislative campaign cycle marked by bipartisan assaults on conservative Republicans allied with Gov. Sam Brownback.

Morrow, mayor of Gardner in Johnson County, blasted incumbent Sen.
