Four former Kansas governors on Tuesday urged voters to retain state Supreme Court justices in the November election, arguing against ousting justices over the Carr brothers’ death penalty case, which has angered conservatives and victims’ families.
The governors, two Democrats and two Republicans, said the process had worked in the case of Jonathan and Reginald Carr — two brothers convicted of a string of murders in the Wichita area and sentenced to death.
