Kansas State University students who once worked into the wee hours of the night at Hale Library won’t have that option this year. The all-night access they used to enjoy five nights a week has changed, and the school is citing state budget cuts as a key culprit.
Cindy Hollingsworth, director of communications, said the change, which took effect this week and will see the building closing at midnight most nights, “was a result of state general fund reductions and a modest student enrollment decline.”
