KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City officials say the city’s new streetcar has been a success since opening earlier this year.
Kansas City Streetcar Authority board chairman Mike Hagedorn also said that the authority intends to take a leadership position in the proposed $200 million expansion of the 2.2 mile route south from downtown.
The authority members were told Thursday that the streetcar line, which opened in May, has far exceeded projections for ridership and tax receipts that pay for the system, The Kansas City Star reported (
