An attorney defending a man charged with lying to federal law enforcement officers searching for a fugitive -- who later shot three federal officers -- questions whether a prison recorded confidential discussions between the defendant and defense attorney, then forwarded them to the prosecutor.
The defendant, Quentin Kirk Lawton, 36, is charged with two counts of making a false statement to a federal officer.
Prosecutors allege that on April 23, Lawton lied to a federal marshal searching for fugitive Orlando J. Collins.
