Gov. Sam Brownback said Friday the Kansas Legislature will likely consider changes to state inspections of amusement rides after the death of a lawmaker’s son at Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Kansas City, Kan., on Sunday.
“I think they ought to be reviewed, for sure, and I would assume and hope that the Legislature would spend significant time looking at the issue,” the Republican governor said. “We will, as an administration, once we get past the sheer tragedy of it.”
