A 19-year-old man, who accidentally killed a 16-year-old friend while recklessly handling a pistol, pleaded guilty Monday to manslaughter in the death.
The defendant, Juwuan D. Jackson, first told federal investigators that a masked man had entered his home, where he fatally shot the victim, a prosecutor said in court.
Standing before U.S. District Judge Daniel Crabtree in Topeka, Jackson made the plea to a federal charge of manslaughter, which is a felony.
