On the day Jermel Ramond Robbins Sr. was fatally shot in a southeast Topeka yard in 2014, Cortez Tyrell Timley was arrested in Independence, Mo., in a federal firearms and drug case, according to state and federal court records.
Timley, 27, was charged with premeditated first-degree murder on July 27 in Shawnee County District Court in the slaying of Robbins, who was 26 when he was killed.
Topeka police responded about 2:45 p.m. June 13, 2014, to a report that shots had been fired in the 2100 block of S.E. Kentucky.
