Roger Marshall began his Tuesday by delivering a baby and ended it with the most decisive defeat of an incumbent congressman in modern Kansas history.
The win was notable not only because it occurred, but for how and where it occurred. Marshall, an obstetrician with no political experience, defeated U.S. Rep. Tim Huelskamp in areas the congressman previously considered bastions of support.
