Topeka-bound tribute acts says imitation takes hard work

There is a lot more to being a successful arena rock tribute act than just putting on a wig and slipping into some spandex.

“The people who come to see the show, they want that illusion. They want to live that fantasy,” said Dan Tietjen, who as the lead guitarist of the Poison tribute, Poison Overdose, becomes its C.C. DeVille character, D.T. Seville.

“They know that you’re not Poison, but they want to pretend like you are, so they can have that much more fun,” Tietjen said.
