LIBERAL — How can something good come from something so bad?
That’s the question that has gripped Chad Carlile for the past year, since the day his 9-year-old son, Kaiser, was accidentally struck in the head while serving as the bat boy for the Liberal Bee Jays at the National Baseball Congress World Series. Kaiser died a day later, Aug. 2, from the injuries.
Kaiser was the light of his life, the son that Carlile, a former state-champion wrestler, desperately wanted to carry on his legacy. And now his legacy was gone.
