State board mulls individualized study plans for high-schoolers

As early as next month, the Kansas State Board of Education could vote on a raft of measures for tracking the success of schools and students — the latest step in the state’s overhaul of K-12 accountability.

Kansas education commissioner Randy Watson unveiled Tuesday six indicators that state education officials would like to fold into a new accountability system replacing one that many educators felt was overly focused on standardized test scores.
