BATON ROUGE, La. — Families of the three law enforcement officers killed in a lone gunman’s ambush in Baton Rouge are each due to receive $250,000 in state survivor benefits.
A four-member state board held a special meeting Wednesday to preliminarily approve the payments, aiming to hasten paperwork needed for final approval, Attorney General Jeff Landry said. Each child of an officer is eligible for an additional $25,000.
