A hearing scheduled for Friday in the ouster case of Topeka Councilman Jonathan Schumm, who has been charged with allegedly choking his 12-year-old son, has been postponed.
News of the postponement surfaced Tuesday. The reason for the rescheduling of the hearing wasn’t immediately disclosed.
Attorneys representing Schumm and the Shawnee County District Attorney’s Office, which is seeking to oust Schumm, are to confer with the judge Friday to schedule a new date.
