When Richard Ross retired Friday, “Ross” graced the spines of scores of “Kansas Reports” and “Kansas Court of Appeals Reports,” the volumes defining the appellate courts’ precedent-setting decisions.
For 38 years, Ross, a lawyer, was the “reporter of decisions” of the Kansas Supreme Court and the Kansas Court of Appeals. He has worked at the appellate court since before it moved to the Kansas Judicial Center in 1978.
Prolific law novelist John Grisham would be happy to have so many volumes with his name on them.
