A Republican senator engaged in a re-election campaign Thursday disclosed the administration of Gov. Sam Brownback would rescind part of a deficit-busting order by earmarking $25 million to jump start a major highway project in his southeast Kansas district.
Sen. Jake LaTurner, running against Democratic candidate Lynn Grant of Frontenac, said administration officials agreed the Kansas Department of Transportation would finance widening a portion of US-69.
