A Shawnee County district judge should sentence the driver of a car involved in an armed robbery and murder to 13 years and nine months in prison, a prosecutor recommended Wednesday.
But defense attorney Steve Ariagno, of Wichita, argued that Eman Emad Lisa Malkawi, now 28, of Topeka, was the least culpable of four people charged in the holdup-turned-killing in 2009. He contended she should receive a 10-year sentence.
