Two weeks after she was arrested in California in connection with a 2007 shooting death, Michelle Antoinette Filby-Amon made a first appearance Wednesday before a judge.
Filby-Amon, who listed herself on jail records as being homeless in Hermosa Beach, Calif., heard Shawnee County District Judge William Ossmann tell her she is charged with second-degree murder in the 2007 killing in Topeka.
She is charged with the fatal shooting of Michael Torneden, 16, in the early hours of Sept. 21, 2007, at 1629 S.W. Central Park.
