Heavy rain washed out several sections of the Union Pacific Railroad in Shawnee County and damaged a small railroad bridge.
The rains, which occurred Monday night and again Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning, washed out multiple small sections of track in the county. Water also damaged a small bridge near Willard, Union Pacific spokeswoman Calli Hite told The Topeka Capital-Journal.
