As Cuban street music recorded on a video spilled outside of her classroom and into the hallways of Shawnee Heights Middle School recently, Melanie Dill’s voice was filled with emotion and excitement as she described the trip she took in March to Havana.
“I’d been wanting to go to Cuba for several years now,” the middle school Spanish teacher said. “It’s been a dream of mine to go but we had been prohibited from going. I’ve just been intrigued by the whole idea.”
