The Topeka Jazz Concert Series will end its 47th annual season Sunday with the second of the series’ showcases of the best of Kansas City jazz.
Steve Waugh, president of the Topeka Jazz Workshop Inc., which began the series in 1969, said in planning this season he wanted to expose season subscribers to “more of the great KC artists.”
“We often see them only when they come in as backup rhythm or sidemen for a national artist or as part of a larger KC big band,” Waugh said.
