After lawyers said Monday they were making progress in plea negotiations linked to a car explosion that severely injured a 4-year-old boy on the day after the 4th of July, a judge gave them six more weeks to resolve the case.
The hearing was in the case of Jacob Daniel Schell, 38, of Topeka, the boy's father.
