MEDICINE LODGE — Crews are monitoring the remnants of a mostly contained Kansas and Oklahoma wildfire for hotspots.
The fire started last week in Oklahoma and spread into Kansas, burning 574 square miles of sparsely populated land. The heaviest damage is in Kansas’ Barber County, where the fire remained 89 percent contained Wednesday night when the most recent update was provided.
