The six 71-passenger buses that will be leased to Auburn-Washburn Unified School District 437’s 94-bus fleet in April are expected to save the district nearly $100,000 in capital outlay costs during the next school year, which begins July 1.
“We’ve looked at leasing in the past, but there was never an option that was really viable for us at the time,” said Rich Jones, USD 437 director of operations.
