Amy Fleury’s poems range from lyricism about the Kansas prairie she grew up on to descriptions of her father’s battle with cancer. All are deeply personal.
Fleury, a former Washburn University professor and the current director of the Master of Fine Arts Program in Writing at Louisiana’s McNeese State University, has been selected for the inaugural Hefner Heitz Kansas Book Award for her 2013 collection, “Sympathetic Magic.”
