More than 300,000 acres have burned in a wildfire that has devastated large swaths of two south central Kansas counties.
No one has been injured and less than 10 buildings have been burned, Gov. Sam Brownback and Maj. Gen. Lee Tafanelli, Adjutant General of Kansas, said during a briefing on the fires in Barber and Comanche counties. The fires are largely “under control” in Comanche County, but some spots in Barber County have proven to be more difficult to put out.
