A Topeka man who decked his defense lawyer with a punch during a jury trial in December 2014 was sentenced Tuesday to a total of more than 20 years in prison in the punching case and an armed robbery conviction.
Defendant Lance L. Franklin, 33, was handcuffed and his legs were shackled during his sentencing before Shawnee County District Judge Cheryl Rios. During the punching of the attorney, his hands weren’t cuffed because he was appearing before jurors during a trial.
