Senators failed to advance an effort Tuesday to overturn Gov. Sam Brownback’s veto of a bill preserving Docking State Office Building, but voted to override a veto restricting STAR bonds.
Administration officials had warned in recent days the Docking legislation — originally passed to ensure construction of a new capitol complex energy center didn’t move forward — could harm the state’s credit rating.
On STAR bonds, Brownback said that if the restrictions were placed into law, he would block any future projects.
