A Shawnee County District Court judge on Monday postponed deciding whether to lower the $500,000 bond of a 31-year-old man charged with the cold-case slaying of a 2-year-old Topeka boy in 2006.
A defense attorney representing Johnathan Davion Mango, of Florissant, Mo., asked District Judge Cheryl Rios to lower Mango’s bond to $200,000 cash or professional surety or perhaps to a cash deposit bond, which wouldn’t require paying a bonding company a $20,000 fee.
