A legislative effort to ban Kansas’ standards for teaching math and English has resurfaced in the Legislature for a fourth year in a row. This year’s version, HB 2676, passed out of the House education committee last week. It appears to be the first time a bill to ban these standards has passed that committee, and the first time any lawmakers have put their name on the legislation. Similar bills in the past didn’t identify the source. This year, 30 Republican legislators attached their names.
